Proof Loader
The proof loader tests a steel cable assembly that is used as part of an emergency restraint in automotive seat belts. The customer's test requirements were: Pull testing the assembly under a steady 2500 lb. load. Dwell for specified period of time under tension Monitoring elongation of the assembly during load Marking assemblies that pass the load test Destroying assemblies that fail the load test The finished design implemented an Allen Bradley PLC, dual palm switch operator control, on-board HPU and heavy duty hydraulic actuators on a custom fabricated heavy machine frame.
Crimp Tool
This tool crimps the cable assembly that the Proof Loader tests. Features included in the design are: 3 presence detection sensors 1 angular orientation sensor Pneumatic part ejection and orientation Light curtain operator safety feature Dual palm buttom operation The tool is mounted in a 50 ton hydraulic press.
